Save Money on Eyeglasses . . .

If you wear prescription glasses, you must check out the following websites:

Zennioptical.com: It's where I got my new set of glasses. (See photo at the bottom of yesterday's post.) Those glasses cost $14.90 including shipping! Really! I chose this pair, and have been very pleased. I also ordered my son's new glasses from Zennioptical.com. They are perfect.

Another site that offers deals on glasses is 39dollarglasses.com. The gal who cuts my hair has ordered from them, and both Zenni and 39dollarglasses were featured in November's issue of Reader's Digest.

The only drawback to ordering your glasses on-line is that they aren't fitted to your face when they arrive. I took my son's pair and my own into Shopko Optical and said, "Can I pay you to adjust my glasses? I didn't buy them here." The man smiled and said, "We don't ever charge to adjust glasses." And then he whisked them off, adjusted them and worked at it until they fit us perfectly. (Thanks, Brett!)

Now, if you've just bought expensive prescription glasses, don't feel bad. Get yourself some inexpensive prescription sunglasses. Or a pair of trendy glasses that you've always wanted, but couldn't bear to spend over $150 on.

Life is too short to wear glasses that don't call your name!

$14.90 for new lenses and frames? Holy Smokes! I paid over $200 for mine this summer and that was with my "family" discount!!! I had no idea there were these kinds of bargain out there. THANK YOU.

I just wish that I'd had LASIK about 5 years ago. Now that I'm heading towards bifocal years, it seems almost as if I won't get my investment out of it before I'll be wearing glasses again anyway. Sigh.

FLG (FlashLightGirl), you could always do what my Mother-in-law did -- UNIVISION. Where they do LASIK... one eye for distance, and the other for reading. She loves it! (The brain adjusts and it's never bothered her.)

I bought my glasses a few years ago for $99--everything included--and I thought that was a great price, but you have found some amazing deals!

Have a safe and happy pumpkin day!!

When I need glasses for anyone in my family, I'm looking this up. Landon goes through glasses regularly. He just flunked his vision screening at school again; but we already knew he would. To flashlight girl, I got lasik 3 years ago and I love it. I can't imagine going back!!! Christie, you were very quotable as a witch in the Herald Journal. You must be a natural (just kidding)!

UGH! I wish I would have known this 3 months ago. My cute little Brock decided to snag my glasses right off of my face and thinking they would be "stretchy" like his sunglasses, he decided to bend them in half. Oh yes, they were ruined. And so was one of the lenses. So, $285 later I had new glasses. They are VERY cute, but I had sticker shock for a long time.
Thanks for the info!

What a great tip! You have no idea how much money I have spent on Supe's glasses. They always get bent up under his motorcycle helmet. He broke a pair playing soccer. The list is really endless. I will definitely check out that site. New subject, I was wondering what you used to clean your showers? Any great tips for that mastermind?

This is the shower cleaning tip for "allie's antics". I've just been waiting to share this little miracle with someone, and finally I know someone who is wondering. Mr. Clean has a new product called "Magic Eraser" that is really amazing. Try it out on your tub, shower, or sink and tell me what you think. I was shocked with how well it worked.

THANK YOU FOR THE LINK! (Sorry to yell, but I'm so excited!) I need new glasses in the worst way, and a mother's eye-wear not always high on the priority list, ya know?

Thanks again!!! :-)
