A Boy and a Girl in a Tippy Canoe . . .

This morning Eric took me on a date. In a canoe.

We purchased the canoe a couple weeks ago from a neighbor across the street. Just walked over there and carried it home between us. This was its maiden voyage under new ownership.

This is me during a moment of pure bliss. That’s my favorite vehicle with a canoe on top. And I’m wearing Chacos. And no makeup. Guess that makes me a Granola Girl. Where’s a tree to hug?

These are some scenes taken from the canoe.

Next on my wish list is a canoe trailer. That way I can round up friends with canoes, and we can load them up and all travel in the same vehicle to our destination. With a picnic to eat on the water. Want to come along?

I LOVE to canoe! Is tha the Bear River? Boy, could I tell a couple of funny stories . . . but I'll refrain. Let's just say there is an old friend about whom canoeing and attempting to spear carp is one of my favorite memories. I'm not sure I really miss L**** or just the delightful memories that always wash over me there. Maybe it is the same thing.

What a great date! Where along the Mighty Bear did you put in? My last trip down the Bear was in a raft and the water was not high enough (drought year). Your idea of the trailer sounds great! Happy paddling!

We put in at the Benson Marina and then headed South. We saw Canada Geese, Grebes, Mergansers, a coot, a muskrat and . . . no misquitoes! Can't get any better than that.

Fun! One of my favorite classes at BYU was canoeing (does that sound like something I'd do?) :) We learned a lot and I vowed to never tip it over.
Glad you had a great time. I'm sure it was nice to get-away.

I've always been scared of the canoe. The whole stabalization factor is a bit of a concern for me. I am usually one to "rock the boat", but not in a canoe. I'm glad you guys had fun!
