Now that fall is here I need some boots/shoes I can wear to church with nylons or microfiber tights. Open-toed sandals and tights just do NOT mix!
I spent this afternoon looking for deals and . . . I found them. This is a photo of the boots and shoes that I bought today.
I kept appologizing to the girl who helped me with the boots at Shoe Carnival. I bet I tried on five different styles of boots. She had to keep repacking them and putting them back on the shelf. "That's okay," she said, "it's fun to help someone who's actually excited to be buying shoes."
Huh? Who wouldn't be excited to buy shoes? I mean, come on. It's not like shopping for clothes where you undress in front of a full-length mirror that is perfectly angled to make your butt look huge. These are shoes for Pete's sake! You can gain or lose 10 pounds and not need to buy new shoes. Shoes last. Shoes are kind. When you lose weight you don't have to throw out your 'fat shoes.' Shoes and boots are a dieter's best friends.
I just made five new friends today!

What a fun day! Love the black boots. Somehow I missed the shoe love gene - for me they are just something else to put away and/or trip over.
I am so jealous! I was just whining to my mom that I needed some new shoes. I don't generally indulge in new shoes often. Too cheap, I guess. So is there someplace with good deals that I need to know about? I love the boots, but I'm too practical for the heels. I'm glad you had fun shopping!
I found deals at TJ Maxx and Shoe Carnival, which is basically like TJ Maxx and Ross only it's exclusively name-brand shoes. It was where I purchased 4 of the 5 pairs. They had a buy one, get one 1/2 off sale. I didn't pay full price for anything! Whee!
Also, I'm not typically a shoe-a-holic, but my closet was seriously lacking in style. Open-toe shoes only go so far. Especially in the snow.
You bought more pairs of shoes today than I think I own! Actually I have some feet issues have to wear only closed toed completely foot covering flat heeled shoes. Not too fun. Your shoes look cute and I am jealous!
Don't be too jealous. I only have one pair of jeans that fit well. I wear them nearly every day. :)
Your post reminds me of Mma Makutsi in the book Blue Shoes and Happiness, although her "traditionally built" feet didn't fit the tiny shoes! Great post, Christie!
